11th IPC UPDATES | Day Two

February 24, 2026 – The second day of the Provincial Intermediate Chapter began with the solemn celebration of the Holy Eucharist integrated with Morning Prayer, presided over by Fr. Donato E. Ellezar, OSA. In his homily, Fr. Ellezar reminded the body that authentic fruitfulness in religious life does not rest merely on reports, numbers, or accomplishments, but rather on whether the Word of God has truly taken root in our hearts. He emphasized that Lent serves as a grace-filled moment of purification—calling the community to deeper conversion, renewed fraternity, humility, and a sincere return to the Father.

The morning session formally commenced with an Opening Prayer led by Fr. Arnel S. Dizon, OSA, the assigned moderator of the day. Following a recap of the previous day’s proceedings, the body received a series of reports from the Provincial officers related to the Mass Media Center, Property Custodian, Human Resource Development Director, and National Director of Vocation. The series of reports also included updates from commission heads, namely, Community Life and Ongoing Formation, Youth, Vocation, and Initial Formation. Then, Fr. Jose Rene C. Delariarte, OSA, Chairman of the Ad Hoc Committee on the Re-admission Program, discussed the new re-admission program for both the initial and ongoing formation of the Friars.

In the afternoon session, reports were presented on Governance and Financial Affairs, Educational Apostolate, Parish Ministry and Mission, Liturgy and Augustinian Devotions, Justice and Peace and Integrity of Creation, Augustinian Affiliates and Laity, and Augustinian History and Cultural Heritage.

Each presentation highlighted accomplishments, addressed current challenges, and outlined future directions for the Province. Clarifications and pertinent questions were responsibly raised and adequately addressed, reflecting the spirit of collaboration and discernment from the participants. Following the presentations from each commission, the moderator invited the drafting committee, led by its chairman, Fr. Dante O. Juloc, OSA, to present their drafted proposal. The afternoon session concluded by identifying which proposals required a vote from the delegates on the final day of the chapter.
