In this Intermediate Provincial Chapter, the friars of the Augustinian Province of Santo Niño de Cebu – Philippines are joined by four representatives from the Vicariate of Christus Totus–Papua. They are:
1. Fr. Floridus Nadja, OSA – Vicar Superior of the Vicariate of Christus Totus–Papua
2. Fr. Yohanis S. Sedik, OSA – Superior of Ketapang and Parish Priest of Sukadana
3. Fr. Yohanes J. Kota, OSA – Delegate
4. Fr. Adrianus V. Durenge, OSA – Delegate
A significant milestone in the history of the Vicariate took place in 2016 during the Intermediate General Chapter (IGC) held in Abuja, Nigeria. On that occasion, the Capitular Fathers expressed their support for the proposal to transfer the dependency of the Vicariate of West Papua from the Province of the Netherlands to the Province of Santo Niño de Cebu – Philippines, granting forty-four placet votes in favor. This decisive act affirmed the desire for deeper collaboration within the Asia-Pacific region and opened a new chapter in the life and mission of the Vicariate.
The following year, in 2017, during the Vicariate Chapter, the majority of the solemnly professed friars formally manifested their intention to be affiliated with the Province of Cebu. This marked the beginning of a renewed era of communion, mutual support, and shared growth. Since then, the friars of Papua have become integral members of a wider Augustinian fraternity, participating in common formation programs, international missionary initiatives, and academic exchanges with communities and institutions in the Philippines.
