The Canonical Visitation for Renewal was recently conducted at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish Community in Socorro, Bucas Grande Island, Surigao del Norte from July 22 to 23, 2025. Fr. Andrew P. Batayola, OSA, accompanied by friars from the Provincialate Offices, visited Fr. Wilboy Bracamonte, OSA and two other members of his community Fr. Cyril Lagrosa, OSA and Fr. CSN Pomoy, OSA.
On July 23, Fr. Batayola presided over the celebration of the Holy Mass with the parishioners, followed by a dialogue with the religious community, as well as representatives of the Parish Pastoral Council. That afternoon, the Father Provincial visited four of the Parish’s nine chapels located in Brgy. Nueva Estrella, Brgy. Pamosaingan, Brgy. Santa Cruz, and Brgy. San Roque. In the evening, a fellowship dinner was held with members of the lay faithful from the Parish and its nearby chapels.
Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish is composed of nine chapels, namely: San Juan Bautista (Brgy. Pamosaingan); San Isidro Labrador (Brgy. Doña Helene); San Isidro Labrador (Brgy. Nueva Estrella); Santo Niño Chapel (Brgy. Salog); Santo Niño Chapel (Sitio Sabang); San Vicente Ferrer (Sitio Lawigan); O; Santa Cruz Chapel (Brgy. Santa Cruz); San Roque Chapel (Brgy. San Roque) and Our Lady of Del Pilar (Brgy. Del Pilar)
In 2026, the Augustinian friars will mark two significant milestones: the 25th anniversary of their presence in the Parish at Socorro, which began in April 2001, and the 20th anniversary of the canonical establishment of their religious house. Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish in Socorro, Bucas Grande Island, is the first parish to be administered by the Augustinians in Mindanao.
