Blessing and Groundbreaking of the Proposed Sto. Niño de Cebu Church and Friary in Ilocos

The Augustinian Family gathers online for an evening of prayer, reflection, and formation through the webinar The Augustinian Family and the local Church gather in prayerful joy for the Blessing and Groundbreaking of the proposed Sto. Niño de Cebu Church and Friary in Pallas Valley, marking a significant milestone in the continuing mission of evangelization and community presence in the region.

The celebration is presided over by Most Rev. Renato P. Mayugba, DD, together with Very Rev. Fr. Andrew P. Batayola, OSA, and is attended by Augustinian friars, members of the local clergy, and the faithful who gather to witness the beginning of a new sacred space dedicated to worship and fraternity.

The liturgical celebration begins with the Holy Mass, offered in thanksgiving for the gift of mission and the growth of the Church. This is followed by a procession to the designated site of the future church and friary, where the rites of blessing and groundbreaking are solemnly carried out, invoking God’s grace upon the construction and future life of the community.

The ceremony concludes with a fellowship meal hosted by the local community, expressing gratitude and shared hope for the flourishing of the new Augustinian presence in Ilocos.
