Augustinian Youth Festival 2017 Unites and Empowers Young Leaders

Augustinian Youth Festival 2017

Anchored on the theme #OneSanAgus-tin: United by Love. Strengthened by Faith, three commissions of the Province came together to organize the Augustinian Youth Festival (AYF) 2017 held last November 24–26, 2017, at GODUCATE, San Miguel, Iloilo City.

The collaborative effort was led by the Commission on Parish Ministry, Lay and Youth, headed by Fr. Tomas C. Banayag, Jr., OSA; the Commission on Educational Apostolate, under Fr. Wilson A. Capellan, OSA; and the Commission on Vocation and Promotion, headed by Fr. Dante O. Juloc, OSA.

The festival aimed to:

  • Empower Augustinian youth and deepen their commitment as future leaders of the Church and society;
  • Revitalize the Augustinian identity grounded in the core values of Unitas, Veritas, and Caritas;
  • Strengthen collaboration and solidarity among youth across Augustinian communities within the Province and the broader Augustinian family in the Philippines.

Youth delegates from various communities, residences, parishes, and schools affiliated with the Province participated in the event.

Key addresses were delivered by Fr. Frederick C. Comendador, OSA, President of the University of San Agustin, and Fr. Wilson A. Capellan, OSA, Vice President for Augustinian Formation and Mission.

The festival featured a dynamic lineup of activities including talks, group sharing, praise and worship, and team-building exercises—all designed to foster spiritual growth, leadership, and unity among the participants.
