Augustinians hold Intermediate General Chapter 2022 in California

Forty friars representing most of the Order of Saint Augustine’s circumscriptions around the world are gathered in San Diego, California, United States to attend the Intermediate General Chapter (IGC) 2022 that began on September 11, 2022.

The friars will meet for dialogue, discussion, and a review of the Order’s journey and its commitment to the apostolate and mission in the last 187th General Chapter in 2019.

In a message sent to the members of the Order on the Feast of St. Nicholas, September 10, 2022, by the Secretary-General, Fr. Pasquale di Lernia, OSA, he invited everyone for an intensive prayer devoted to the specific intention for the success of the intermediate chapter at the St. Augustine Monastery.

The IGC is “an opportunity, an expression of synodal spirit, proper to the tradition of the Order, is intended to provide an opportunity for personal and common reflection, particularly on the theme of “Renovatio” in light of contemporary ideals and challenges.” Fr. Pasquale added.

Meanwhile, Rev. Fr. Andres Rivera Jr., OSA, Prior Provincial of the Province of Santo Niño de Cebu, is also in California to attend the Chapter.

May the Lord fill our Order with His blessing and enable us to welcome the breath of His Spirit.
