The Commission on Justice and Peace and Sto. Nino Augustinian Development Foundation (SNAF) of the Augustinian Province of Sto. Nino de Cebu-Philippines was invited as one of the exhibitors in the 1st Cebu Summit and Learning Event on Inclusive Disaster Risk Reduction and DRR Info Fair Exhibition 2016 at SM Seaside, Cebu City.
The exhibition aims to create awareness among the constituents of Cebu on the various practices and projects of the different institutions working in the social services sector. The Augustinians are representing the church sector by presenting the model house of Balay-Bao. Balay-Bao is a typhoon resilient house model that is to be shared to the people in the island of Kinatarcan after they were hit by the super typhoon Yolanda in 2013. Kinatarcan Island had been an adopted mission territory of the Augustinians in Northern Cebu since 2009.
Some institutions and organizations present also in the exhibition are the Office of Civil Defense – RDRRMC VII, PAG-ASA Visayas, CCE Foundation, Enabled Project, DSWD Region VII, and Department of Health 7.
The exhibition’s theme is “Tawong May Kabilingan Apil Ka: Sa Katalagman Andam Ta!” and it runs from May 20-24, 2016 at the Cube Wing of the SM Seaside Mall, South Road Properties, Cebu City.
