In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Augustinian Province of Santo Niño de Cebu- Philippines and on the occasion of the 1670th birthday of our Holy Father Saint Augustine and the Feast of all Saints of the Order, a historical marker of the pioneering members of the Province was unveiled today, November 13, 2024, at the San Agustin Center of Studies (SACS), Quezon City.
Leading the unveiling ceremony were Very Rev. Fr. Andrew B. Batayola, OSA, Prior Provincial, Rev. Fr. Eusebio B. Berdon, OSA, First Prior Provincial, Rev. Fr. Rommel D. Par, OSA, Prior of SACS Community, and Rev. Fr. Jonas M. Mejares, OSA, Chairman of OSA Niño at 40.
From 1984 to 1990, the San Agustin Center of Studies served as the first Provincial Headquarters of the Province of Santo Niño de Cebu- Philippines before relocating to the Basilica Minore del Santo Niño de Cebu in Cebu City.
SACS was officially dedicated and blessed on November 13, 1984 by His Eminence Jaime Cardinal Sin, DD, then Archbishop of Manila.
Since then until present, the Center has been a vital place for Augustinian formation.
