15 Friars Renew Vows, Proceed to Pastoral Exposure

Professed renew vows

On June 9, 2022, fifteen simply-professed friars advance to the next formation year as they renewed their religious vows in the Order of Saint Augustine this morning. Their renewal of vows was accepted by Fr. Edgardo L. Lazo, OSA, the prior of the San Agustin Center of Studies Community, in the name of the Most Rev. Fr. Alejandro Moral Antón, OSA, prior general of the Order.

During the Mass for this year’s feast of Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Eternal High Priest, Fr. Lazo exhorted the young friars not to neglect the witnessing and ministry demanded by their religious profession and their aspiration to Holy Orders, and not simply settle for the titles of “Fray” or “Brother” or, in the future, “Father.”

Tomorrow, June 10th, ten of the friars will report to different ministries of the Order for their 40-day pastoral exposure. They are:

The five fifth-year friars will continue to assist the SACS community and prepare themselves as well for their six-month pastoral exposure, beginning September 1. 12. Fray Alberto Jr. C. Bartiana, OSA
13. Fray Ronelle S. Dogon, OSA
14. Fray Eugenio O. Reserva, OSA
