On March 16, 2024, life-sized statues depicting the Stations of the Cross were solemnly blessed and inaugurated at the San Agustin Retreat House in Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental.
The blessing ceremony was presided over by Prior Provincial Rev. Fr. Andrew P. Batayola, OSA, who was joined by the Augustinian friars of Colegio San Agustin – Bacolod.
Also in attendance were Assistant General of the Order, Rev. Fr. Javier Barba, OSA, the President of the University of San Agustin, Rev. Fr. Frederick Comendador, OSA, and members of the Cofradia del Santo Niño de Cebu- Bacolod Chapter.
Fr. Barba is in the Philippines to oversee the preparations for the upcoming Augustinian Internation Education Congress, which will be held in July at the University of San Agustin—Iloilo.
The stations of the cross were generously donated by Miss Venus del Mundo.
This blessing ceremony coincided perfectly with the celebration of Holy Week, providing Catholics in Don Salvador with a place of prayer that beautifully reflects the passion, death, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
