7 Brothers Professed Solemn Vows

Solemn Profession

On the Memorial of Augustinian Blessed James of Viterbo, a Bishop, the San Agustin Center of Studies celebrated a significant milestone as seven friars of the Order of Saint Augustine Province of Sto. Niño de Cebu-Philippines solemnly professed their vows. This event marked a profound moment for the Order and the friars, who dedicated their lives to God through the solemn vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience.

The newly professed friars are:

Fray Jeremy Jonas Reyes Alcaria, OSA, from Mabini, Davao de Oro
Fray Ronel Marollano Bayon-on, OSA, from Bantayan, Cebu
Fray Nemie Boy Rosaceña Cataluña, OSA, from Bantayan, Cebu
Fray Glenn Atendido Macorol, OSA, from Maripipi, Biliran
Fray King Villacastin Nepangue, OSA, from Bantayan, Cebu
Fray CSN Salvacion Pomoy, OSA, from Burgos, Surigao del Norte
Fray Harvey Kent Sanchez Solatorio, OSA, from Consolacion, Cebu

These friars have committed themselves to a life of service, embodying the Augustinian principles and following the example of Saint Augustine. The solemn profession ceremony highlighted their deep commitment to living faithfully in unity and love, with minds and hearts intent upon God.

The Order expressed its gratitude to the friars for their dedication and encouraged them to continue their journey with steadfast faith. The event was a testament to their choice to follow Jesus Christ more closely, giving a fuller expression to their baptismal consecration.

As part of the tradition during the solemn profession of vows, the friars’ assignments were announced:

Fray Alcaria: St. Augustine Parish, Gubat Sorsogon
Fray Bayon-on: Santo Niño Mission Station, Vintar, Ilocos Norte
Fray Cataluña: Colegio San Agustin-Mati, Davao del Sur
Fray Macorol: St. Augustine Parish, Saguday, Quirino Province
Fray Nepangue: San Fernando Residence, San Fernando, Cebu
Fray Pomoy: Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish, Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur
Fray Solatorio: Santa Ana Parish, Burgos, Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte

They are expected to report to their new assignments on 1 July 2024 together with the other members of the Province, who are also bound to their newly-assigned communities/ residences.
