As a sign of acceptance to the novitiate, five postulants were given their habit last July 6, 2021.
Four are from the Province of Sto. Niño de Cebu and one from the Vicariate of the Orient.
The novitiate formation program is a year of discernment for brothers who wish to fully live the Augustinian way of life by professing the vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience.
The five novices are:
Monasterio de Guadalupe
- Arjie Santosidad – Kinatarcan Island, Sta. Fe, Cebu
- Rey Gungob – Consolacion, Cebu
- Katrieno Bennit Jorda – Matag-ob, Leyte
- Rafael Martin Musa – Muntinlupa, City
Vicariate of the Orient
- Reyl Jon Esma – Olongapo City, Zambales
The rite of acceptance and blessing of the Augustinian habit was led by Fr. Eusebio B. Berdon, OSA, Prior of the Augustinian Novitiate and Prayer House, together with Fr. Joel L. Beronque, OSA, Novice Master, and the other members of the community namely: Fr. Leonard B. Realiza, OSA, Fr. Nicolas M. Echeveria, OSA, Fr. Romanico O. Cañon, OSA, Fr. Jasper V. Valmores, OSA, and Fr. Rodolfo A. Bugna, OSA.
