The University of San Agustin in Iloilo City has been chosen as the esteemed host for the upcoming International Congress on Education. Scheduled to take place from July 22 to July 26, 2024, this significant event is organized by the Order’s International Commission on Apostolate and Evangelization.
With the theme “AI-Vangelization: Learning and Evangelization,” the Congress aims to explore six crucial facets that hold immense relevance for academic institutions globally. These areas include Anthropology and AI, Ethics and Technology, Educational Management and AI, Pedagogy and Technology, Didactics and AI, and Digital Evangelization.
The Congress is extending a warm invitation to friars and lay collaborators, particularly those from the Educative Communities of the Province, to actively participate in this enriching event. Gathering Augustinians from different continents, the Congress promises to delve into the interplay between education and spirituality, as well as the harmonious convergence of knowledge and faith.
Fr. Frederick Comendador, OSA, President of the University of San Agustin, serves as the overall chair of the event, while the International Commission of Apostolate and Evangelization, led by Fr. Javier Barba, OSA, Assistant General of the Order for Southern Europe, plays a pivotal role in its organization.
Registration for the Congress is now open, with a registration fee of P 12,500.00 (Philippine pesos), which covers a kit, t-shirt, meals, and snacks throughout the week-long event. Additionally, various accommodation options are available:
- Single room: P 2,750.00 per night
- Single accommodation in a double room: P 2,500.00 per night
- Lodging with a companion in a double room: P 1,250.00 per person per night
- Dormitory room (with a maximum of 3 companions): P 500.00 per night
A minimum booking of five nights is required, from Sunday night, July 21, 2024, to the night of July 26, 2024. The registration deadline is April 30, 2024.
