APAN accepts 8 Novices for Canonical Year 2022 – 2023

The Order of Saint Augustine, along with entire Catholic Church, rejoices with the gift of religious vocation as they accepted 8 new Novices

The Order of Saint Augustine, along with entire Catholic Church, rejoices with the gift of religious vocation as they accepted 8 new Novices to the Asia-Pacific Augustinian Novitiate at the Augustinian Novitiate and Prayer House, Lower Mohon, Talisay City, Cebu, today, July 02, 2022 . The 8 Novices are:

  1. Nov. Anthony Thai Su Hoang (Province of Our Mother of Good Counsel – Australasia; Nghe An Province, Vietnam)
  2. Nov. Joseph Cao Quang Pham (Province of Our Mother of Good Counsel – Australasia; Dang Na Province, Vietnam)
  3. Nov. Martin Hoang Xuan Vu (Province of Our Mother of Good Counsel – Australasia; Dang Na Province, Vietnam)
  4. Nov. Peter Thao Nguyen Van (Province of Our Mother of Good Counsel – Australasia; Nghe An Province, Vietnam)
  5. Nov. John Andrew Velarmino Castaneda (Province of Sto. Nino de Cebu – Philippines; Hilongos, Leyte)
  6. Nov. Mhelcar Cena Anierdes (Province of Sto. Nino de Cebu – Philippines; Sagay City, Negros Occidental)
  7. Nov. Shernan Esmero Sarmen (Province of the Most Holy Name of Jesus of the Philippines; Dumarao, Capiz)
  8. Nov. Vimar Fuentes Clores (Province of the Most Holy Name of Jesus of the Philippines; Garchitorena, Camarines Sur)

Rev. Fr. Eusebio B. Berdon, OSA, presided over the ritual of acceptance and received the Novices on behalf of the Major Superiors of the 3 Augustinian Provinces. In his message for the new Novices, he highlighted the charism of the Order particularly the common life, prayer life, and interiority, the common Augustinian charism and values.

Rev. Fr. Joel Beronque, OSA, Master of the Novices, along with the Augustinian Novitiate and Prayer House community members, together with some guests, graced the happy-filled occasion of the new Novices.
