On the occasion of the 78th founding anniversary of the Korean National Police (KNP) on October 18, 2023, Fr. Dennis D. Cuervo, OSA was recognized for his initiatives and efforts as chaplain of the Goyang-Paju Filipino Catholic Community at Paju-EXODUS Migrant Center in Gyeonggi-do, South Korea.
Fr. Cuervo, the lone foreigner among twenty awardees, has been working closely with the Filipino community not only for their pastoral needs but also for their social concerns.
The Korean National Police of Paju Police Department, through its Chief Inspector, expressed its gratitude to individuals from various civic organizations that contributed to the development of the police administration.
The Province of Santo Niño de Cebu- Philippines and the Augustinian Delegation of South Korea extend their congratulations to Fr. Cuervo for this inspiring recognition as an Augustinian Missionary.
Fr. Cuervo has been assigned to South Korea since 2016 along with two other Filipino Augustinian missionaries.
The recognition is also a milestone for the Province as it commemorates its 30th anniversary, this 2023, of sending Filipino Augustinian missionaries to South Korea since 1993.
