The Augustinian Province of Sto. Niño de Cebu- Philippines announces with joy the election of Fr. Andrew Batayola, OSA as the new Prior Provincial.
Fr. Batayola, as the Provincial-elect, will serve for the term from 2024 to 2028.
At present, he is the Prior of the Provincialate Community and the School Director of the Colegio del Sto. Niño in Cebu.
Fr. Batayola, who hails from Bantayan, Cebu, has once served as Prior and Rector of the Basilica Minore del Sto. Niño de Cebu from 2004 to 2008. He also served as president of education communities, Colegio San Agustin – Bacolod and Colegio San Agustin – Biñan, before being assigned as CSN Director.
He has been serving the Province for twenty-two years as a Solemn Professed Friar.
His election was confirmed on July 11, 2023 by the Prior General, Very Rev. Fr. Alejandro Moral Anton, OSA.
Guided by the Constitutions of the Order of Saint Augustine and Statutes of the Province, a new Prior Provincial election occurs before the Ordinary Provincial Chapter. February 2024 will be the 10th Ordinary Provincial Chapter.
