Rev. Fr. Wilson “Willy” Capellan, OSA recently led a Lenten recollection for parishioners of the Sto. Niño de Cebu Parish in Biñan City, Laguna. The event, which took place on March 11, 2023, drew over 80 participants who sought to deepen their faith and understanding of the Holy Week. The recollection was held at the Parish’s multi-purpose hall.
During the recollection, Fr. Capellan shared insights on “Getting the most out of Jesus’ Final week”. He emphasized the significance of the Holy Week, describing it as the most important week of the most important person who ever lived. The recollection was a pilgrimage that followed the journey of Jesus from his triumphant entry to Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, to his resurrection on Easter Sunday.
He added that Holy Week is also called “Isang Linggong Pag-ibig” which means “A Week of Love”. It is God’s manifestation of his love for mankind’s salvation through the life offered by his Son, Jesus Christ
Fr. Wilson serves as the prior and president of the Colegio San Agustin – Biñan Community, which comprises both a school and a parish. The Sto. Niño de Cebu Parish is currently headed by Fr. Wilboy Bracamonte, OSA.
The Lenten recollection provided a meaningful opportunity for parishioners to reflect on their faith and to deepen their relationship with God as they journeyed through the most important week in the Christian calendar.
