The PlayCare Home or “Balay Amuma” Project organized by KidsLife Foundation, conducted a culminating activity in celebration of Flores de Mayo last May 30, 2022 at San Pio Village, Talisay City. The children from Balay Bantayan (EdM) and Homeless Children (SNAF) were the participants of the said event. The event featured activities for children and their parents such as storytelling, craft making (floral headband), offering of flowers and singing of Marian songs for Mama Mary.
PlayCare Home or “Balay Amuma” Project – a new model for a Day Care Center or a Supervised Neighborhood Program for homeless children and children living in dumpsites in Cebu City. PlayCARE Home practices are based upon an essential need for relationship-based care (bonding and continuity) and on neurological research and acknowledgement of living arts (domestic, nurturing, creative, and social arts) as fundamental to the development of children’s social, emotional and intellectual skills. Emphasis is placed on practical life skills such as gardening, cleaning, cooking, washing, repairing, and sewing, among other things.
