Last July 26, 2023, the Santa Anna Parish, Burgos, Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte celebrated its 56th annual feast in honor to the mother of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Saint Anne.
Rev. Fr. Andrew Batayola, OSA, Prior Provincial-elect of the Province of Santo Niño de Cebu- Philippines, presided over the eucharistic celebration and was concelebrated by the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Noli Detoyato, OSA and other Augustinian friars.
In his homily, Fr. Batayola encouraged the faithful to become a listening church with a grateful heart through the help and guidance of Sts. Anne and Joachim.
The theme of their fiesta this year is: “Dali, duyug sa pagsaulog ug pasalamat sa unang dekada sa pagka parokya ni Señora Santa Anna.” (Come and join as we celebrate and give thanks to the first decade of Sta. Anna Parish.)
May this feast of Saints Anne and Joachim inspire us to draw closer to Jesus through Mary.
