SMCC New Set of Officers Take Oath

CEBU CITY, Santo Nino Pilgrim center– Board of Directors and officers of the different committees of Santa Monica Credit Cooperative (SMCC) took their oath last July 12, 2022 to mark the start of the cooperative’s new set of officers.

BOD Chairman Fr. Andres D. Rivera, Jr., OSA challenged the new set of officers and BOD to manage the cooperative in accordance to its vision and to perform their duties with aspirations and to serve the people of God.

He said that it is necessary to follow what is in the by-laws of the cooperative in order for SMCC to thrive and become sustainable in the years ahead.

Member of the newly elected Board of Directors Fr. Andrew P. Batayola, OSA, who is also the School Director of Colegio del Santo de Cebu (CSN) recognized the responsibilities of a BOD member and committed to do his best to uphold the role with quality. 

The new set of officials and the BOD of SMCC were inducted by Professor Elenita S. Mantalaba, CPA, a former dean of PUP-Institute of Cooperatives and Training Director of CODIS Federation of Cooperatives who also expressed her gratitude to the cooperative for being proactive in delivering various services to their members. Mantalaba also praised SMCC’s management team, for providing prompt assistance to cooperative members, regardless of their classification, to enhance their operations.

The BOD Treasurer, Fr. Jose Rene C. Delariarte, OSA also assured that financial support for the cooperative’s different programs that helped the different members will continue to be supported technically and financially.

As of April 2022, Santa Monica Credit Cooperative, which was founded in 2019, is a micro cooperative with 115 members and a total asset of P1 million.
