Niño de Cebu-Philippines celebrated three remarkable individuals’ Simple Profession of Vows: Fray Reden Lequin, OSA, Fray Mhelcar Anierdes, OSA, and Fray John Andrew Castañeda, OSA. The momentous occasion took place during a solemn Eucharistic Celebration held at the Sanctuary of St. Rita in Talisay City, with the Very Reverend Fr. Andres Rivera, OSA, Prior Provincial, presiding over the ceremony. The event was graced by the presence of other esteemed Augustinian friars and witnessed by the newly Simple Professed friars’ family, relatives, and friends.

The Simple Profession of Vows is a significant milestone in the lives of individuals who have chosen to dedicate themselves to the religious life as Augustinian friars. It marks a profound commitment to live according to the ideals and principles of the Order of Saint Augustine after spending one year of discernment at the Augustinian Novitiate and Prayer House in Mohon, Talisay City Cebu. The vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience are at the core of their calling, guiding them on their spiritual journey and inspiring them to serve God and humanity.

During the Eucharistic Celebration, the atmosphere was filled with reverence and joy as the newly Simple Professed friars publicly declared their commitment to the Augustinian way of life. Fray Reden Lequin, Fray Mhelcar Anierdes, and Fray John Andrew Castañeda stood before the congregation, their hearts brimming with faith and determination. They professed their vows with unwavering conviction, surrendering themselves wholeheartedly to God and the Augustinian community.
