Two Augustinian friars graduated with their respective degrees in theology at the Recoletos School of Theology (RST) on June 3, 2022. The RST Solemn Investiture was held at the Our Lady of Consolation Parish, in Mira-Nila Subdivision, Quezon City. The rites were held in the presence of Very Rev. Fr. Miguel Angel Hernandez, OAR, Prior General of the Order of Augustinian Recollects, and Very Rev. Fr. Bernard Amparado, OAR, Prior Provincial of the Augustinian Recollect Province of St. Ezekiel Moreno.
As is customary, the baccalaureate Mass was offered before the solemn investiture. Fr. Amparado, the main presider, and homilist, encouraged the graduates to remain faithful to their vocation and to their ministry as future religious and ministers of the Church.
Fray James Dosado, OSA of Mandaue City, Cebu graduated cum laude with the ecclesiastical degree Bachelor of Sacred Theology, the program for which is affiliated with the Royal and Pontifical University of Santo Tomas – Manila. He received the degree from the hands of Rev. Fr. Rodel Aligan, OP, Dean of the Faculty of Sacred Theology of the University.
Fray Ariel Panimdim, OSA of Digos City, Davao del Sur, meanwhile, was conferred the civil degree Master of Arts in Theology (non-thesis program) by Rev. Fr. Leander Barrot, OAR, the RST rector. He produced for his terminal paper a Latin-Cebuano translation of Pope Francis’ apostolic exhortation to the youth “Christus Vivit.”
Several Augustinian simply-professed friars attended the event in support of their confreres who merited their degrees and academic distinctions. It is their hope and that of the graduates that their theological formation in RST would serve them greatly in their future ministry. Kudos, brothers! (Soliman,OSA)
