Fr. Ambrosio Casimero Galindez, OSA, who hails from Garcia-Hernandez, Bohol, and was born on November 2, 1931.
Fr. Galindez made his profession of simple vows as Augustinian last June 25, 1953 in Convento de San Agustin, Intramuros, Manila; his solemn vows on June 26, 1956 in Collegio Santa Monica, Rome; and was ordained priest also in Rome on July 22, 1959. He made his philosophical studies in the University of Santo Tomas in Manila and his theological studies in Collegio Santa Monica, Rome. He obtained a Master’s Degree in Education in the University of San Carlos in Cebu City.
On returning home, he handled different responsibilities, like being parish priest of San Agustin Parish in Intramuros, Manila, and of San Jose Parish in Iloilo City; rector of Basilica Minore del Santo Niño de Cebu in Cebu City (1973-1974; 1982-1988); and rector of the University of San Agustin in Iloilo City and of Colegio San Agustin in Makati City.
He died on June 12, 2011 at the age of 81 from a lingering colon cancer.
